It appears two of the hottest actors in Hollywood today, in more ways than one, have now become workout buddies. John Krasinski, the star of the new television series Jack Ryan, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is starring in seemingly too many movies to count these days, recently hit the weights together at the latter’s gym, which Johnson calls “Iron Paradise.” Not surprisingly, the news made its rounds on the web this week.

Considering the role that catapulted Krasinski into national prominence was his portrayal of the slender, unassuming everyman-type Jim Halpert on NBC’s The Office, his beefed-up look is quite the transformation. Johnson has maintained his chiseled physique for decades now, with a remarkable career in professional wrestling and the feature film industry.

The stars crossed paths through Krasinski’s wife, actress Emily Blunt, who stars alongside Johnson in the upcoming movie Jungle Cruise. Below is a transcription from Krasinski’s recollection of the initial exercise interaction, which can be seen in a clip posted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Twitter page.

“Emily just did a movie with him and I asked him, ‘Could I ever work out at your place?'” Krasinski said. “And he said, ‘Yeah, no problem!’ And I met the producer for dinner the next night, and he said, ‘You know, no human being has ever been in that gym. Will you report back and tell me what it is?'”

“I said, ‘Yeah, how bad…’ I walked in and it was like alien spaceships had landed. He has like, 40 pieces of equipment that I’ve never seen in my life,” he said.

“As time went on, I got more and more comfortable in the gym. We were just workout buddies.”

“I’d send him pictures as I leave the gym and I was like, ‘Hey man, thanks for a great workout, uh, feeling real comfortable, real at home. Feeling like I didn’t need to wear clothes,” Krasinski said. “And he loves that! He loves when you get like, really intimate sweat on all his equipment … and this is a bad place to tell him that I never washed the equipment. Ever.”

Johnson responded to Krasinski’s anecdote on his own Twitter page, tweeting: “I told @johnkrasinski when you use my gym, send me a pic of you getting after it. I soon realized he and I had two VERY different meanings of ‘getting after it’. Unfortunately, I can never un-see a naked Krasinski.”

A little playful banter on social media always makes for good clean fun. Hopefully the two dreamy celebs will continue to inspire their fans to live a more active lifestyle in pursuit of a similar physique.
